Protective Cover, Compost cover Toptex
Toptex has over a decade of experience as a supplier of coverings for the agricultural sector, making it a leading player in the industry. Toptex is a durable Protective Cover and Compost Cover that can be used both for composting and as a Protective Cover over plastic-wrapped silage and roughage. The cover protects against bird damage, drying out, sun, and wind, while allowing air to pass through and helping to maintain optimal moisture conditions.
The compost cover is made of recyclable polypropylene and has a life span of 3–5 years in European climates. Store it away from UV rays to extend its useful life. The compost cover maintains optimal moisture balance by draining rainwater, which reduces leakage and protects the compost from drying out, as well as from the sun and wind. It also prevents weeds from taking root in the compost, making it ideal for windrow composting.
Economically sustainable: By reusing the farm’s organic waste, you avoid having to buy artificial fertilizers. It can also be used to cover manure, which preserves the nutritional values for composting.
Protective cover over plastic-wrapped silage/roughage
We have also tested Toptex as a protective cover over tubular plastic (sausage-style layering) to reduce the risk of bird damage. The results so far have been very promising and show that the fabric can serve as an extra protective layer on top of the plastic. The 6 m x 50 m size is particularly well-suited as a protective cover against bird damage.

Toptex cover cloth
Toptex bale cover cloth is now available in Sweden and is a popular product throughout Europe for outdoor storage of straw bales. Its unique feature is that it releases moisture and condensation, making it ideal for keeping bales dry and free from mold.
Toptex offers several advantages, including eliminating the need for indoor storage and preventing feed quality problems. The ventilating material prevents moisture under the cover, and thanks to its low weight of 130g/m², it is both windproof and easy to handle.
Toptex offers five years of UV protection and is made from recyclable polypropylene, making it durable and affordable. Water runs off the surface while moisture can evaporate, and wind can pass through without lifting the fabric. It is also easy to secure with Velcro fasteners and sandbags.

Toptex accessories – Sandbag
The sandbag from Toptex is used to secure the cover fabric and is easily placed on the fabric. With practical handles, it is easy to carry and handle. Fill the bag with sand or gravel and use together with Toptex Velcro tape for best results. Delivered empty.
Toptex accessories – Velcro tape Ø5 cm x 15m
This hook-and-loop tape is a complementary product for attaching your bale cover. You can attach the tape directly to the cover or create loops for placing sandbags in or anchoring the cover.
Made of Velcro, the fastening tape can withstand loads of over 100 kg, ensuring that the sandbags remain in place and the fabric does not blow up. The tape is easy to attach and adjust, and its biggest advantage is that it can be moved and adjusted as needed.
Toptex accessories – Fixing plates, 12-pack
Toptex fixing plates make it easy to secure your bale cover at strategic points, reducing the risk of moisture penetration. The plates have small barbs that help to hold the cover in place by attaching themselves to the straw bale.
These plates are best used as extra anchoring together with sandbags on the sides of the stack for optimal stability. Toptex fixing plates are sold in packs of 12.
